VelopA, founded in 1959 in Rotterdam, is celebrating its 65th anniversary this year. Since that time, we have been designing and producing bicycle parking solutions, street furniture and sports and play facilities for public spaces. Fun fact, the name VelopA was invented in Zurch, Switserland by Ubbo Wilhelm Groenendal (from a Dutch-Frisian family). Velo is the word for bicycle in both German-speaking and French-speaking Switzerland, pA stands for parking and parquer. He also came up with the capital letter A at the end of VelopA.
For over 65 years VelopA has been setting the standard to enhance the appeal of public spaces. Together we want to play an even bigger role in improving the quality of life in towns and villages, and create public spaces everyone can enjoy. We use our knowledge and expertise to design unique solutions and develop sustainable products.
VelopA has built a wide circle of clients in sectors such as government, architecture, education, health care, business, construction (ground, roads and waterways) and leisure. Together we design and develop total concepts and cutting-edge strategies that stand out through innovation and design. Read more about our ambitions here.
